Events and Diary Dates
245 Revive on Sunday at 6.30pm, will be a Christian Aid service closing the project for Ghana when Katrine Musgrave, Christian Aid representative, will be speaking. Please come and support this important work.
Central’s AGM will be held next Sunday starting at 3.30pm in the hall, followed by a bring & share tea. All members of the church are warmly invited. Copies of the report are available at the back of the church today. The evening service will also be in the hall at 6.30pm when Mr Phil Parsons will be speaking.
Film Night: Come and see this mystery film ‘The Maltese Falcon’ starring Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor on Thursday 6th February at 7.30.pm in Central Hall. Ice creams in the interval. Donations for Central funds.
There will be a Christian Aid Exhibition entitled ‘Uprooted’ up in the church from Sunday, 26th January until Tuesday, 11th February. It will be available to see on Tuesday, 4th February and Friday, 7th February from 10am-12.30 pm on both days. It will also be available to see at the church services during this period.
Information books on the Marriage and Relationships consultation are now available to borrow from the vestry. Please ask a steward if you would like to read one before our discussion at the AGM on 2nd February.
There's a meeting of Methodist Evangelicals Together for a time of worship, prayer and sharing at Chilsworthy Chapel near Holsworthy at 7.30pm on Monday 27 January under the banner Remaining Faithful. This is on the subject of marriage and relationships. It will be led by Rev Derek Balsdon and organised locally by Mark and Sandra Shepherd. If you would like to go but lack transport please contact Rosemary or Chris Paxman on 775901.
Coads Green Chapel Film Afternoons. Showing ‘The Blind Side’ on Sunday 2nd February at 2:30 pm. Come along and join us, all are welcome to this free event. The Blind Side is about a homeless African-American teenager who becomes an American football star. Based on a true story, this uplifting and remarkable film illustrates how love, belief and encouragement from one person to another can overcome the hand we are dealt and enable us to achieve excellence.
